2. Conference: The library has a conference room that is ideal for programs and meetings and is utilized by the community. With their showcase, the library serves the community by displaying community collections and decorates for holidays and special events.

3. Marion: The city is actually a village with 802 residents. Visitors are often surprised by the library’s large building and collection size for the population that it serves.

4. Trust: How to use the funds from the trust fund is still being discussed. Their collection development budget will be increased and the building may have some remodeling done.

5. Two: The library recently was upgraded from a class I library to a class II library.

In the future, the artistic talents of Shelly Scott will be displayed with animal paintings on the wall. The book shelves in the children’s area are unique, they are shelves that where originally from a shoe store.

13. Warm: Staff strives to make the library a warm and comfortable atmosphere for patrons.

1. Her house: M. Alice Chapin donated her house in her will and it was the original library building and used as a museum. This summer landscaping and a memorial garden were done in her memory.

2. Citizens: Citizens bank donated their previous bank sign to the library which displays the current time and temperature. The library had the face of the sign designed for their library. The sign has increased awareness of the library.

6. Village: The library shares their building with the village offices. The building was built in 1986. When the library moved to their new building in 86, the community helped by donating time and funds which allowed for the purchasing of the circulation desk and shelving.

7. Police: They also share their building with the police department.

10. Farming: Marion is a farming community that specializes in cattle. The library is home to a genealogy collection of Marion history which includes numerous historic photos of the Marion area.
