Pathfinder Community Library

Library Showcase:

Located in the small town of Baldwin, Pathfinder Community Library is a beacon of knowledge for area residents. The library has recently received a grant from the Lake County Foundation to provide free computer classes for seniors. The classes are administered when the library is closed due to high demand for the computers when the library is open.

The library’s commitment to their community is evident in the projects that they have undertaken. The library purchased the building next to theirs, which was previously an automotive store, and converted it into their children’s room. They are also in the process of automating their library collection and are using Verso. In addition to automating, their current project list includes putting new facing on the building.

In November 2004 the library celebrated their 50 th Anniversary. Current Director, Bonnie Povilaitis, credits much of the library’s success to former Director, Millie Pohlman. Bonnie believes that the library really blossomed and grew under Millie’s leadership. Millie is retired, but still assists the library by helping to select newly published books for addition into the library collection.

We salute Pathfinder Community Library for all they have done for their community and are proud to have them as a member of the Mid-Michigan Library League.
