OverDrive Consortium (Content Group)

Beginning in December 2019, a new master contract was established for the consortium that is managed by the directors of Northland Library Cooperative and Mid-Michigan Library League. There is a Steering Committee for the consortium, as well as Collection Development Teams. The Participation Agreement and Collection Development Policy are the guiding documents for the consortium. Pricing is based on an average between population served and percentage of total circulation. If you join July 1 or later, the price is half of the annual amount. You will be added to the consortium listserv and the vendor will set you up so that your patrons will have access to the service.

Are you interested in joining Up North Digital? If you are a member of Mid-Michigan Library League or Northland Library Cooperative, you may apply to join the consortium in December to begin in January or in June to begin in July. We will add libraries in groupings so that the service population is not increased too quickly. To join, review the participation agreement and return a signed copy to your library cooperative director.

To join after July 2022 and have service to the end of 2022, submit the participation agreement and pay the half-year price.
To join in January 2023, submit the participation agreement by December 1, 2022.
If you want to join before July 1, 2023 but missed the previous deadline, submit the participation agreement and pay the full-year price (not pro-rated).
To join in July 2023 or after, submit the participation agreement and pay the half-year price.

Depending on their ILS vendor package, some partners utilize the API’s from their ILS vendor (there may be costs from your ILS vendor since it could be part of their suite)
Libraries or independent contractors may wish setup their own API’s ---submit their application to developer.overdrive.com. (no cost)
